After machining, we tend to choose some surface treatments for the aluminum parts: polishing, anodizing, electroplating, galvanizing, passivating, etc. This time, we would like to give you a brief introduction about how we do anodize on aluminum parts.
It can be briefly divided into four stages: chemical reaction, anodizing, coloring, and sealing.
Before a chemical reaction, we can make do some preparations. Bead blasting is one of the preparations we usually do. With the help of the bead blasting machines, the scratches caused by the CNC machines will be removed. Then, the surface of the aluminum parts will become more glossy. Meanwhile, bead blasting is a necessary step before anodizing. You can choose to do or not do.
Chemical Reaction: It’s a vital preparing step for aluminum parts to do anodize. The workers will put the aluminum parts into many kinds of sinks with various solutions: sulfuric acid, nitric acid, alkaline, etc. By placing these sinks in sequence and putting them in clean water immediately, the natural oxide film, grease, small amounts of abrasives, dust of aluminum parts will be cleaned. It will help the aluminum parts fully anodize after.
Anodizing: Now, we can put aluminum parts into the anodizing sink for a specific period. The time needed depends on materials and sizes. Then, the surface of aluminum parts will create an oxide film.
Coloring: We can mix any color to dye aluminum parts. Thus, there is a broad color selection for your project. After several minutes, we need to wash the aluminum parts several times as well.
Sealing: Because of the porous structure of the anodized film, we need to seal the aluminum parts to prevent contamination.
