Sheet metal cutting is an important process in sheet metal processing. It has a wide range of applications in the industrial field. With the emergence of new technologies, we can use different cutting technologies to obtain unique metals with desired shapes and sizes. And its efficiency and quality are much higher than before. Let’s see what they are.
As for cutting, there are several types of cutting. There are 4 categories: laser cutting, plasma cutting, flame cutting, and water jet cutting.
•Laser cutting: The engineer input the pre-programming into the CNC machine. It will control the high-power laser to cut the material. The laser will burn, melt and vaporize the material to obtain the metal as we expected.
It is an efficient and high-precision cutting. If you have high requirements for metal precision and surface clarity, laser cutting is your first choice. Besides, we can apply laser cutting to a variety of metals: aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, etc.
•Plasma cutting: We use a plasma cutting machine to melt and cut metal at a temperature above 20000°C. And it works by combining gas, oxygen or argon with electricity to generate plasma. Compared with laser cutting, its accuracy is not high.
•Flame cutting: It is a relatively old cutting technique with a history of more than 100 years. And it uses oxygen to burn and oxidize metals. Alongside that, the higher the oxygen purity, the faster the cutting speed.
•Waterjet cutting: It is an ideal cutting method for soft and hard metals that are easily damaged. It uses high-pressure water to cut metal.
At Ruitai, we usually use laser cutting to process metal plates. Therefore, we want to show you detailed information about our laser cutting.
(1)The laser cutting machine used by Ruitai has two powers: 1500w and 3600w. The greater the power, the faster they can process.
(2)Available materials: aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, POM, wood, foam, etc.
(3)Thickness: The thickness of different materials is different.
