Welcome to the world of sheet metal fabrication, where imagination meets sheet metal precision engineering. In this article, we will explain several steps regarding sheet metal processing. Imagine turning your innovative concepts into tangible reality, meticulously transforming sheet metal into stunning functional masterpieces. Whether you want to design a sleek architectural exterior, cutting-edge automotive parts or complex electronic enclosures, sheet metal fabrication is the key to unlocking endless possibilities.
At Ruitai, we are passionate about harnessing the transformative potential of sheet metal. With our expertise and state-of-the-art facilities, we focus on delivering high-quality sheet metal solutions that exceed expectations. We are committed to turning your vision into reality with unparalleled precision and craftsmanship, from prototyping to volume production. Below, follow my lead and continue to explore the five main steps of sheet metal processing.
Data tiling
This is a critical first step. When you work with Ruitai, we analyze the file data based on the files you upload and then input the data into our CNC programming system. The programming system will issue corresponding instructions based on the data. Cutting tools are used to perform cutting work. This process is called data tiling in manufacturing. This link is the beginning of sheet metal processing. As the saying goes, everything is difficult at the beginning. It can be seen that this link is vital and requires very skilled CNC operators to operate it. Otherwise, on the one hand, it will cause system chaos, and on the other hand, it will prolong the production cycle of sheet metal parts. Either way, this is not advisable.
Fortunately, we are a professional sheet metal manufacturing company with many years of manufacturing experience. Each master responsible for the system has very rich practical experience. Cooperating with us is the most excellent guarantee.
Cutting
Generally, when used in sheet metal manufacturing, we usually use cutting. Ruitai has a variety of cutting equipment, including laser cutting, discharge spark cutting, etc. Under normal circumstances, our cutting equipment has been performing cutting operations. It can be seen that our sheet metal processing technology is deeply loved by people from all walks of life, and choosing us is definitely the right choice.
Deburring
This is called deburring in the sheet metal fabrication industry. We know that some raised burrs will be left in the cut sheet. If these burrs are not removed, on the one hand, they may puncture the human surface skin, and on the other hand, they may affect the appearance of the parts. Perfect parts require some polishing. You can think of the process as being like plastic surgery for humans. But unlike plastic surgery on the human body, plastic surgery on parts will be more perfect.
Rivet nut
Pressure rivet nut, also called rivet nut, or self-fastening nut, is a nut used on sheet metal sheets. It solves the shortcomings of thin steel plates that are easy to deform during welding and threads that are easy to slip when tapping internal threads. It is an important part of the sheet metal manufacturing process. In addition, it is easy to use, has high riveting efficiency, does not need to tap internal threads, does not need to weld nuts, etc., and shortens the processing cycle of sheet metal manufacturing.
Pressure rivet nuts are widely used in the assembly of electromechanical and light industrial products such as aerospace, refrigeration, automobiles, switches, furniture, instruments, and decoration. Its processing principle is to squeeze the teeth of the rivet nut into the plate through pressure to cause plastic deformation around the preset hole, and the deformed object is squeezed into the guide groove, thereby producing a locking effect.
Bend
Bending is the most common process in sheet metal processing. We will explain the most common processes to you in the next blog, but no matter which one they are, their working principle is to punch the workpiece is press it into the lower die of the concave die to achieve the bending effect. Ruitai’s operators are familiar with all available tooling and can verify tooling tolerances each time the tool is put on the machine.
Oxidation
If shaping is a high-quality solution to improve the performance of sheet metal parts, then oxidation is an excellent process to improve the temperament of the parts. A high-quality oxidation process can improve the overall appearance of the parts and make your sheet metal parts more efficient in terms of performance. Corrosion resistance and better appearance. It is worth noting that when aluminum alloy needs to be oxidized during processing, it must be oxidized first before riveting is performed, while steel cannot be oxidized. This is an operational detail. Some manufacturers that provide sheet metal processing services do not understand these details, which will cause serious losses.
